Your 12-month roadmap
Take courses in any order, in any pace, within 12 months. Here's the recommended sequence for the smoothest progression:
MONTHS 1–3
Marine AC Fundamentals — build the foundation: compressors, chillers, seawater loops, ABYC E-11.
MONTHS 4–7
Marine Refrigeration — the biggest systems on the boat: ice makers, walk-ins, remote condensers.
MONTH 8
Watermakers — RO membranes, desalination, freshwater integration.
MONTHS 9–11
EPA 608 Exam Prep — sit for and pass the federal refrigerant handling exam. Required before you can legally work on refrigeration.
MONTH 12
ABYC Standards & Compliance — cap it off with the industry credential employers actually hire for.
